The InnoRenew CoE International Conference 2025: From lab to life - innovative solutions for a healthier and greener built environment took place on 16–17 September 2025. The event brought more than 40 participants from 13 countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Iran, Italy, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and the USA) to Izola.

The conference provided a platform to explore renewable materials and their applications in creating healthy, sustainable buildings, through a variety of thematic sessions, including: data processing, creativity and society, buildings, health, and materials.

In addition, IRIC2025 hosted three workshops:

  • Rebecca Williams’ workshop “How to Tell the Story Behind Your Science”

  • The MEZeroE project workshop “Open Innovation Test Bed for Building Envelope Products: How Can Open Innovation Lead to Better Building Envelopes?”

  • The WoodStock project workshop “Living Lab Workshop: Co-development of the European Wood Construction Observatory (EWCO)”

Visitors can also view the exhibition Living with Wood, displayed in the InnoRenew CoE atrium until 29 September.

More information is available here.

IRIC2025 is co-organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation within the framework of the Month of Science 2025 programme.
