The Rector of the University of Primorska, Prof. Klavdija Kutnar, confirmed the proposal of the Scientific Council of Andrej Marušič Institute (UP IAM), which nominated Prof. Vito Vitrih after the elections as the Director of UP IAM.

Dr. Vito Vitrih will lead the UP IAM institute for a third term. During his presentation at the Staff Assembly, he emphasised that he will continue to work towards the restructuring of UP IAM into a doctoral school, which would implement the existing doctoral study programmes of UP Famnit. The Institute will further pursue its strong international presence, which is reflected in the increased number of employed international researchers, follow its ambitious objectives of acquiring projects and organising prestigious scientific meetings, and ultimately fulfil the fundamental aim of scientific excellence.

Dr. Vito Vitrih will start a new four-year mandate on 14 December 2021. We congratulate him on his appointment and wish him further success!
