The patent application of Prof. Nejc Šarabon titled "A device for measuring knee torque during static contractions in bedridden humans" is in the process of the complete test, i.e. the verification process or the invention meets all the legal conditions for patenting (substantive verification of novelty, inventiveness, and industrial applicability).

For the invention of Prof. Denis Trček and Prof. Borut Likar, titled: "The process of mastering two-way interaction in the use of audio-video communication platforms using digital channels" an international PCT patent application was successfully filed in February.

With the successful protection of the aforementioned inventions, we are contributing to the realisation of the goals of UP's medium-term strategy in the field of raising research excellence and the potential for increasing the possibilities of cooperation with the private sector and the wider business environment.

You are kindly invited to apply for this year's competition for THE BEST INVENTION of UP 2022. 

The purpose of this competition is to promote innovation among researchers, educators, and other employees at the University of Primorska, and at the same time identify inventions at UP for its selection for the BEST INVENTION of UP 2022. The competition offers an opportunity to promote the integration of UP with the economy in the region and beyond, promote new business ideas and commercialise knowledge.

Why register an invention? Registering your inventions gives you the possibility of assessing the market potential of the invention itself, and the possibility of co-financing the costs of patent application and maintenance.

All employees of the University of Primorska, such as researchers, pedagogical staff, and others can apply to enter the competition.
