UP IAM successful in obtaining a new adapted research project
UP Institute Andrej Marušič has been successful in obtaining a new research project within the Public Call for Proposals for the co-funding of research projects under the complementary scheme for applications to European Research Council (ERC) calls, co-funded by the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS).
The leader of the funded project SMOOTH-MATCH: Smooth isogeometric spline spaces on multi-patch domains is Prof. Dr. Vito Vitrih, researcher, professor and Director of the Institute Andrej Marušič.
In the years 2023-2026, the project will extend known results for the case of planar domains to the volumetric domains. They will consider the extension of standard triangular or quadrilateral meshes to mixed meshes and construction of particular Argyris-like spline spaces on the multi-patch domains. They’ll go beyond the Gelerkin discretization and consider the collocation method over multi-patch domains based on the derived smooth spline spaces as discretization spaces
The objective of the call for proposals is to co-fund research projects that were particularly successful at the international evaluation process, thus providing applicants with the conditions to refine their own scientific excellence and the original idea of the research project. At the same time, the call aims at the resubmission of the leader’s application to an ERC international grant.
We would like to congratulate our Director and wish him a smooth scientific path!
