The successfully concluded traditional conference TRIPLE i: Intuition, Imagination, Innovation in Suicidology, organized for the 15th year by the Slovenian Center for Suicide Research (SCSR) at the University of Primorska, Andrej Marušič Institute (UP IAM). The event, held in memory of the late Prof. Andrej Marušič around the time of his birthday, aims to promote intuition, imagination, and innovation in suicide research and prevention.

The two-day event took place virtually from May 14th to 15th, 2024, and this year enabled the participation of 353 attendees from 44 countries who otherwise might not have been able to attend the traditional conference format due to financial or time constraints.

The research theme »Is successful suicide prevention doomed to stagnation?« has sparked many interesting discussions led by a distinguished group of speakers, including Dr. Heidi Hjelmeland, Dr. Saška Roškar, Dr. Diana von Bergen, Dr. Dan Reidenberg, Dr. Luke Balcombe, Dr. Alan L. Berman, and Nina Krohne.

All conference participants were welcomed by Prof. Diego De Leo and Assoc. Prof. Vita Poštuvan from UP IAM SCSR and Prof. Klavdija Kutnar, rector of the University of Primorska.

In recent years, the conference has developed into an important hub for professionals in suicide research and prevention and a forum for discussions between leading experts and future suicidologists. The program covers suicide research, clinical approaches, and interventions, encouraging discussion on theories, prevention, and challenges in suicidology.

Associate Head of UP IAM Slovenian Center for Suicide Research Assoc. Prof. Vita Poštuvan commented on this year's conference: »I am most pleased with the participation of those who follow us from developing countries, as traditional conference formats are usually difficult for them to access. Their satisfaction and the transfer of knowledge into practice for suicide prevention give meaning to our work and the continuation of this traditional event.« One of the attendees praised this year's conference, stating that attending the Triple i conference was an excellent experience, as the topics were timely and of utmost importance for contemplating the future development of the field.
