Bilateral research projects with Vilnius Tech university
In 2024, the University of Primorska and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech) from Lithuania signed an agreement to establish a program to promote bilateral research cooperation. The program is open to research groups from all research sciences and fields and enables the financing of small scale one-year research projects.
The first call for proposals consisted of 10 consortia applications with the participation of researchers from all faculties and the research institute at UP. The evaluation committee included representatives of both universities, they selected the five best projects which will be implemented in 2025:
- Assoc. Prof. Martina Paradiž, PhD from UP FHŠ and Prof. Jolita Šliogerienė, PhD from Vilnius Tech for the project »Epistemic Bias Detection in Multilingual AI-generated Texts«;
- Assoc. Prof. Jana Hojnik, PhD from UP FM and Prof. Zenonas Turskis, PhD from Vilnius Tech for the project »Side-By-Side Assessment of the Technology Transfer in Slovenian and Lithuanian Universities: Input and Output; The Structure of the Transfer Process and National Technology Transfer System, Determinants of Success and Failure«;
- Assoc. Prof. Armand Faganel, PhD from UP FM and Neringa Vilkaitė-Vaitonė, PhD from Vilnius Tech for the project »Towards a Standardized Scale for Measuring Consumer Sustainability Fatigue«;
- Assist. Anja Černoša, PhD from UP IAM and Assoc. Prof. Ingrida Bružaitė, PhD from Vilnius Tech for the project »Fungal Melanin: Enemy or Friend? Evaluating its Role in Human Health and Antimicrobial Properties« and
- Prof. Štefan Bojnec, PhD and prof. Tomas Baležentis, PhD form Vilnius Tech for the project »Risk-adjusted Frontier Analysis of the Primary Sector«.
