(SI) V akciji sodelujejo predstavniki 29 držav, ki se osredotočajo predvsem na zmogljivost bio gradbenih materialov, njihovo občutljivost in razgradljivost z namenom ohranjanja in povečevanja uporabe nizkoogljičnih gradbenih materialov v Evropi. Za številne "okolju prijazne" gradbene materiale manjkajo podatki o lastnostih in ustrezne celovite preskusne metodologije za ugotavljanje njihove odpornosti proti plesnim, madežem in razkroju. Usklajena prizadevanja za uvrstitev vprašanja biološke razgradljivosti organskih gradbenih proizvodov na dnevni red bodo prispevala k nadzoru in preprečevanju te neposredne grožnje za uporabo gradbenih materialov na biološki osnovi, ki bi lahko po drugi strani resno škodovala vseevropskemu programu nizkoogljične gradnje. (EN) Maintaining and expanding the market potential for bio-based building products in indoor and outdoor construction uses remains a key activity for European industry in the forestry and biotechnological sector. Performance data for many "environmental friendly" building materials are lacking as well as suitable comprehensive test methodologies to determine their resistance against mould, stain, and decay. A coordinated effort to put the issue of biodegradability of organic building products on the agenda will contribute to the control and prevention of this imminent threat to use bio-based building materials, which in turn could severely damage a pan-European low carbon building agenda. |
